Session Descriptions

Navigating Resistance: Unlocking Change in Ourselves and Our Clients

We all encounter resistance in ourselves and others when engaging in mindbody work. Perhaps there are certain clients who never seem to move forwards, or colleagues who can’t seem to open up to our work. Perhaps in ourselves we feel a resistance to some aspect of the work, whether that’s putting ourselves out there, taking risks, or setting boundaries.

In this workshop, we’ll take a deep dive into resistance, and learn how to work with it so that it can transform into renewed energy to move us forwards, both personally and professionally.  Through this workshop you will: -learn what resistance is -understand how resistance feels in your own body -learn how to identify resistance in clients and colleagues -be equipped to work with resistance to overcome barriers to progress in yourself and those you work with.

The Anxious Client

Many clients dealing with chronic symptoms also experience anxiety — whether as a contributing factor, a result of their condition, or both. This workshop offers a deeper understanding of how anxiety presents in different individuals and how it can impact the therapeutic process.

You’ll explore how to:
- Recognise the signs of anxiety, even when it’s not named
- Understand how anxiety interacts with other chronic symptoms
- Create a sense of safety and calm in your sessions
- Avoid common pitfalls such as reinforcing anxious patterns or becoming overwhelmed yourself

Through discussion, reflection, and practical tools, you'll build greater confidence in working with anxious clients, helping them feel more grounded and better supported.

The 'Chatty Shack'

Pull up a chair and bring your questions! In this relaxed, interactive session, you'll join one of three small groups hosted by experienced SIRPA membership board members. Whether you're curious about integrating the SIRPA approach into your current practice, facing a tricky client situation, or looking for ideas to grow your business, this is your chance to ask, share, and learn.  Each group will create space for open discussion, practical advice, and supportive peer learning. With a wealth of experience in the room, you’ll leave with fresh insights, new connections, and a stronger sense of community in your work.

New Developments from SIRPA

Stay up to date with what’s new and evolving in the world of SIRPA. In this session, Georgie will share the latest developments in the field — from exciting collaborations and upcoming events to fresh ideas shaping the future of SIRPA and our community.  Whether you're keen to stay connected to the wider movement or curious about what's on the horizon, this is a great opportunity to hear about the direction of the work and how you can be part of it.

The Wellbeing Plan

Practitioner wellbeing is essential — not only for your own health, but for the quality and sustainability of your client work.

Recently we introduced a Wellbeing Plan but many members aren’t yet aware of it yet. This session will shine a light on its value and the role it plays in helping you maintain balance, clarity and resilience in your practice.

We’ll explore how your own wellbeing impacts your ability to support clients, what warning signs to watch for, and how to use your plan to stay grounded and energised.  You’ll leave with a copy of the SIRPA Wellbeing Plan and practical guidance on how to personalise it — making it a living resource you can return to again and again.

Moving Forwards: what comes next for you personally and professionally?

To finish our weekend together, we will facilitate a time of reflection to help you crystallise your learnings and turn them into practical next steps which can have a tangible impact on your personal and professional life.

"A wonderful weekend of connection with so many lovely individuals all championing the holistic approach of mindbody health, whilst also being guided to delve deeper into some topical personal & professional development. Uplifting, informative and forward focused!"
